Celebrating Our 2025 Summer Interns

This summer, MJ welcomed a talented and enthusiastic group of 12 interns, each bringing curiosity, new perspectives, and a willingness to learn across several departments, including Site/Civil, Building Systems, Water/Wastewater, Highway and Bridge Engineering, IT, Planning, and Marketing. 

We’re proud to recognize the contributions of this year’s interns: Gemma Baldwin, Broderic Bianchi, Jacquelyn Durant, Kerry Gibson, Stefan Knezevic, Thomas Kotkoskie, Brendan Laster, Emily Moore, Nathan O’Connor, Matthew Picard, Sarah Spinner, and Julianna Zarelli. 

To foster connection and reflection, MJ hosted an Intern Roundtable. This was an informal, engaging lunchtime event where interns had the opportunity to hear from their group directors, ask questions, and share insights into their own experiences. Leaders from MJ’s various departments shared favorite past projects while interns discussed their own contributions and takeaways from the summer. The conversation touched on everything from engineering specifics and department overviews to how to apply lessons from MJ in future academic and professional pursuits. 

During the summer session, the entire MJ team came together at our annual July tailgate. Interns and staff enjoyed sunshine, lawn games, and great food. We were lucky enough to also have refreshing shaved ice from a visiting Kona Ice truck. The event was a small token of appreciation for the interns’ hard work and energy throughout the summer. 

MJ’s 2025 intern cohort represented an impressive range of schools, including: Christian Brothers Academy, Emmanuel College, Manhattan College, Rochester Institute of Technology, SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, SUNY Geneseo, Union College, University at Albany, University at Buffalo, University of Vermont, Western New England University, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute. 

From time in the field to collaborating with departments across the office, our interns made a meaningful impact this summer. Thank you to each of you for being a part of the MJ team, we’re excited to see what you do next!
