USMA West Point, North Point Dock

MJ provided topographic and bathymetric survey services to document existing conditions of the project site. Topographic survey and mapping was completed by conventional survey methods in order to gather and supplement inventory of above and below-ground existing conditions. MJ utilized a single beam echo sounder coupled with a survey grade GPS observation to obtain river bottom locations of the Hudson River.  This data was used as the basis for the design and upgrades associated with the U.S. Military Academy at West Point’s North Point dock. The team developed a digital terrain model in AutoCAD from the ground data and riverbed topography collected.
