Saratoga State Park, Peerless Pool Bathhouse Complex Renovation
Saratoga Springs, New York
MJ teamed with Phinney Design Group on the renovation of Saratoga State Park’s Peerless Pool Bathhouse Complex. MJ was responsible for structural engineering and survey services. The project involved the renovation of the pool equipment building and demolition of the existing bathhouse. A new bathhouse was designed incorporating restrooms, lockers, family restroom/changing rooms, and lifeguard/first aid station. A new pitched roof replaced the existing roof on the existing pool equipment building. The design incorporated improved energy efficiency and focused on ADA improvements to increase accessibility for people with disabilities.
Other features included a new entrance plaza and courtyard with new benches, bike racks, lighting and landscaping, a large shade canopy and three covered shelters available for public rental, and enhanced sightlines for lifeguards from the office to the swimming areas.
This also improves the bathhouse layout for visitors to navigate, while providing expanded changing areas and bathrooms, including family bathrooms.
