Sanitary Sewer Interceptor Rehabilitation
Saratoga County, New York
The Saratoga County Sewer District (SCSD) #1 owns and operates a sewer interceptor extending from the City of Saratoga Springs to the SCSD’s WWTP in the Town of Halfmoon. Over time the interceptor experienced structural damage due to hydrogen sulfide deterioration.
To maintain the integrity of the interceptor, the project included the rehabilitation of over 15 miles of concrete sanitary sewer pipe. The rehabilitation was completed in two construction phases. MJ’s design involved pipe CIPP lining and manhole rehabilitation including cementitious and polyurea lining, frame and cover replacements, carbon inserts, realigning of frames, riser repairs, reconstruction of bench and inverts, and raising 125 manholes to grade. MJ also provided bid phase services, construction administration, and construction inspection services.
