Replacement of Scotch Bush Road Culvert
Saratoga County, NY
MJ assisted in completing the grant application through the BridgeNY program and provided survey, design and construction inspection for the replacement of a deteriorating culvert that conveys a Tributary of LaRue Creek under Scotch Bush Road in the Hamlet of Burnt Hills. The project was completed within 10 weeks.
The new precast box culvert will increase the hydraulic opening, reducing the flooding upstream due to the insufficient hydraulic opening of the existing culvert. This project required extensive utility coordination with both overhead and underground utilities being proximate to the project site. Coordination included the movement of a gas line, overhead fiber lines, and a municipal waterline. All was completed prior to the contractor being in the field to avoid any unnecessary construction delays.
