NYC Green Infrastructure Initiative
New York, New York
MJ has provided topographic and utility surveys under six separate NYC EDC DEP green infrastructure contracts throughout Queens and the Bronx. This large-scale initiative aims to design and implement green infrastructure improvements that prevent stormwater from entering the city’s sewer system, which helps to improve the health of local waterways. The program has created thousands of green infrastructure systems which include right of way bioswales, right of way rain gardens, and stormwater green streets.
MJ performed topographic survey and mapping which included surface and subsurface features, including curbing, street furniture, sidewalks, trees, driveways, existing structures, and roadway surface materials. MJ located existing surface and subsurface utilities, facilities, and systems. The data collected and the plans generated were the basis for the project’s overall design.
