New Ground Mounted Solar Array Farm

Perth, New York

MJ is responsible for all survey, preliminary studies, permitting, conceptual design, visual simulations, and site/civil design for a new 4.314 MW DC / 3.50 AC ground mounted solar array farm developed a 27-acre parcel of land. The project is being developed by Active Solar, one of the primary companies providing large commercial and small utility scale solar PV development and construction in New York State. The project is located along NYS Route 30 and was designed on an undeveloped area with fields and forests.

Based upon the initial concept, MJ completed Part I of the Full Environmental Assessment Form (FEAF) to assist the SEQR Lead Agency in their review of the project. MJ prepared the site plan application, special use permit application, and coordinated and participated in various meetings during the project’s regulatory review before the Town Perth.

MJ’s design scope includes removal of trees and brush, grading, roadway design, installation of ground mounted solar arrays, installation of overhead and underground electric, design of a new fence for security, and landscaping. MJ is also preparing a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) covering the proposed construction phase site disturbances.

This is one of five ground mounted solar array sites that MJ is developing for Active Solar.
