Kaydeross Avenue West, & Nelson Avenue Water Main Replacement

City of Saratoga Springs, New York

MJ led the design for water main replacement on New York State Route 9, Kaydeross Avenue West, and Nelson Avenue in the City of Saratoga Springs.  The existing water main was planned for replacement because of repeated failures in sections experiencing accelerated corrosion. The project includes the installation of 18,000 linear feet of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and ductile iron pipe (DIP) water main, hydrants, valves, water services, fittings, associated appurtenances, and site work. Approximately 16,000 linear feet of the HDPE was installed via directional drilling to mitigate wetland and stream disturbance. In addition to design, MJ coordinated with regulatory agencies for environmental permitting and plan approval.
