I-86 over Chautauqua Lake

Under a prime term contract with the NYS Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), MJ provided survey and mapping services for the I-86 over Chautauqua Lake Bridge. The project involved the innovative use of static and mobile LIDAR techniques, including incorporating a wearable NavVis VLX (mobile LiDAR) scanner inside a UBIU to confirm top-of-pier elevations. This would have been difficult to achieve using conventional survey methods given the geometry, length, and height of the bridge. The scan data was utilized by NYSDOT for proposed bridge improvements.
