Over the last several years, MJ has mapped New York City subway tunnels and stations. We have provided 3D laser scanning and mobile mapping on more than 30 separate assignments for New York City Transit (NYCT).
The projects include flood mitigation design, security improvements, as well as ADA upgrades and other station and tunnel improvements. 3D laser scanning enabled MJ to obtain critical design elevations quickly with minimal impact on rail traffic or need for costly outages.
MJ has collected survey, 3D laser scanning and mobile mapping of subway tubes from station to station. We have scanned entire stations, documenting tracks, platforms, stairs, mezzanines, columns, and walls. MJ has utilized the scan data to develop station BIM models. We also performed conventional topographic and utility surveys.
